Privacy policy for the Squash-Legends app.

2. Principle: your data stays on your device

Everything you enter while scoring, training or setting up – matches, match reports, scoresheets, history, player names, settings, favourites and training progress – is stored only locally on your device. Without the community you need no account, and none of this data is sent to us. Match reports, rallies and scoresheets stay on your device even when you use the community.

When you are signed in to the community, the app also keeps a copy of your community data on the device so that it loads faster; it is deleted when you sign out.

Android or iOS may include app data in the automatic device backup to your Google account or iCloud, so that it is restored when you switch phones. You control this in your phone’s backup settings.

3. Community (optional, requires an account)

If you use the community, you sign in with Google (on iPhone also with Apple) via Google Firebase Authentication. Firebase stores your user ID, email address and the name from your Google or Apple account.

In Cloud Firestore (Google, data centre in Frankfurt/Main, Germany) we store:

Signed-in community members can see your alias; friends and members of your groups also see your results, and your official name on official matches. Purpose: running the community (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Invitation and result links (squash-counter-app.web.app) are served by Firebase Hosting; anyone who has a result link can see the names and the result in it; anyone with a training link can see the sender’s alias, the date and the duration. Opening these pages processes your IP address in server logs (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, secure operation).

4. Deleting your account

You can delete your account in the community at any time. This deletes your profile, sign-in account, friendships, group memberships, groups you own, linked tournaments you created, training sessions you recorded, group training sessions you scheduled and open results; you are removed from other people’s training sessions and your confirmations are removed. Confirmed matches remain for your opponents’ statistics; your name in them is removed and shown as “Deleted player”.

5. Premium purchases (RevenueCat)

Purchases are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store under their terms and privacy policies. We do not receive any payment data. To manage purchases across devices and platforms we use RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., USA): it receives a random app user ID, the purchase receipts from the store, the products bought and technical device data (e.g. operating system, app version, IP address). The app stores the Premium status on your device so that Premium also works offline. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

6. Smartwatch

The watch app receives the current score or training state from your phone and sends your taps back. Transfer runs via Google Play services (Wear OS) or Apple WatchConnectivity directly between your devices; we do not receive this data.

7. Error reports (Sentry)

If the app crashes or an error occurs, it sends an error report to Sentry (Functional Software, Inc., data storage in the EU). The report contains the error, the app version, device model, operating system and the steps leading up to the error, but no names, results or account details. It helps us fix errors. This only happens if you agree (when first starting the app or in Settings → Error reports); the legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG). You can withdraw it at any time in Settings with effect for the future.

8. Protection against misuse (Firebase App Check)

To make sure that only the genuine app accesses the community, the app proves its integrity with Firebase App Check. For this, Google Play Integrity (Android) or Apple App Attest (iPhone) checks whether the app and the device are unmodified; technical device and app data are processed by Google or Apple. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (protection against misuse).

9. No advertising, no tracking

The app contains no advertising and no analytics or tracking tools, and it does not create usage profiles. Permissions used: internet (community, purchases, error reports) and vibration (signals).

10. Recipients and transfers to third countries

Processors are Google Ireland Ltd. (Firebase), RevenueCat, Inc. and Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry). Data may also be processed in the USA; this is covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or the EU standard contractual clauses.

11. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). Contact us at contact@rawguide.de. You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA, Ansbach).

12. Children

The community is intended for people aged 16 and over. Younger players may use the community only with the consent of a parent or guardian.

13. Changes

We update this policy when the app changes. The current version is always available in the app under Settings → Legal.
